That was camp

Hello
hay park classes 8 and 7 we had a lot of fun
but unfortunately we had to leave after three days.
me and my class mates have each written a poem.
here is mine.
That Was Camp.

Remember the excitement flowing through the bus as though it was a fire?
Remember the arrows flying and the balloon popping suddenly?
That was camp.

Remember the slyness of the rain creeping in on us every day?
Remember when I caught that baby wave and faceplanting countless times?
That was camp.

Remember how we stayed up all night and talked?
Do you remember when we went home all the energy gone us ready to and see our families again?

That was camp.

SPEEDWRITE: INFORMATION REPORT ON STARS

Today’s learning focus- WALT to write an information report on stars in 40 minutes.

My Information Report Success Criteria:
Self
Peer
My heading/title:

  • is an interesting title (I might have phrased the title as a question.)

My opening paragraph/introduction:

  • says what my report is about in a clear way

  • gives a general “classification” – and maybe a technical classification

  • outlines the main features of the subject

My main paragraphs/body paragraphs:

  • have clear topic sentences  (topic and main point)

  • are organised so that each paragraph is about a different aspect of the subject

  • give detailed information (factual descriptions)

  • include specific, technical vocabulary

  • are generally balanced (have a similar amount of detail about the different aspects I write about)

  • may have helpful: tables, pictures and/or diagrams to add information

My end paragraph/conclusion:

  • draws the report together/sums up my main points

  • may give a personal opinion; ask the reader a question and/or tell the reader where further information may be found

Stars of mystery of the universe

[Introduction]
Stars,if you want to know how they're born how they live and what happens to them when they die. You'll enjoy and I hope this encourages you to make your own explanation everyone

What are stars made of.

Stars are made with a mixture of hydrogen and helium this would usually caused nuclear fusion because of the extreme gravitational pressure on the star . On the inside of a star hydrogen and helium smash into each other this causes nuclear fusion . As a side effect of this we get heat and light although this is a good thing we also get solar radiation that can cause skin cancer that would greatly affect the human races numbers .
[the life cycle of a star]
The life cycle of stars very complex. The birth of a star goes exactly like the proceeding, helium hydrogen and dust come together and create a gravitational pull then what happens is the hydrogen and helium bash into each other creating solar radiation in other words nuclear fusion side effect as we already know is light, heat and the bad side effect is that it can cause skin cancer. After that after that the star could live up to 100 billion years before it's inevitable death this is called a Nova or for a larger star super nova
[ types of stars ]
There different types of stars the differences are colors shapes and sizes for instance colors are most obvious for a blue star is always the hottest and oldest for a blue flame is the point where metal melts . A red star is a cold a star and they have found that some stars are the body heat of a human which is about 30 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit strange isn't it. Although a star like our Sun which is a yellowish orange is a medium star and is by far the largest object in our solar system

[Conclusion]
Stars are strange and we need to use that power( I got that power!) . Stars could be different from us they usually are there actually probably one way that they could be the same but temperature but that's not very often can we do to make big stars like usstars of the great mysteries of the universe

MARS THE DEAD PLANET

MARS THE DEAD PLANET

In Week 5 of Term 2 our class focussed on how to write great information reports.
We wrote about the planet Mars as we are in the middle of learning about Planet Earth and Beyond. Learning how to write a great information report will help us with our self-guided topics in a few weeks time.

Here is my writing, after I have self-assessed and peer-assessed my work.

Did you notice the planet mars? it is earth’s neighbours and is surprisingly different and Named after the roman god of war. if you want to know more, like why mars is red or how old you would be on mars read on.

visual surface
Mars has a very strange surface and is filled with crazy things.Mars is red that seems simple right, nope its surface actually has a mineral the name of which is iron oxide. The red planet has a thin atmosphere which is letting too much sun light in scorching the barren wasteland.covering most of the planet Sand Storms can rage lasting for months
Mars also has one gem in all the volcanoes, sand storms and canyons it has mount olympus(or olympus mons) the largest volcano known to man.But the planet has two ice poles like earth.

14/05/15
My Reflection: (e.g. what I learnt, what I thought about my work, what helped me improve.. the thing that made me improve the most is that i wrote faster but the problem was that it was hard to find “inspiration” and the topic was about some thing I know little about.

Human exploration

mars has never been explored with a real human,it has only been explored with drones or satellites.

The Orbit of Mars
Even though Mars is our closest neighbour, its orbit is very different. A Martian day (or how long it takes to rotate once on its axis) is longer than an Earth day and equals 24 hours and 37 minutes. This is because it spins slower than our planet. Moreover, a year on Mars is the same as 687 Earth days! Imagine if you lived on Mars, you would be almost half the age you were on Earth!
